2) 42 Division – Crime Updates

Issue: Honda/Toyota/Lexus vehicle thefts (underground parking lots/Driveway)

Action: The police has identified days of week/times of the day for these thefts and a directed patrol has been issued for those areas of concern

Issue: Vehicle jackings

Action: Very recently seen a spike in vehicle jackings where victims are approached by suspects making demands for keys, HUS (YRP, PEEL, HALTON, TPS) /42 MCU investigating

Issue: Taxi Frauds – members are typically working in pairs using a fake debit machine to record victim's PIN. Once this is collected, victim's card is swapped out for a similar one and fraudulent transactions are incurred.

Action: Suspect descriptions and areas of concern are being collected to build an MO. Crime prevention strategies are being created/disseminated.

Issue: Gun Robbery – Councillor Lai was told that there had been a gun robbery at a vegetarian restaurant in Woodside Square – 42 Division officers said they were not aware of that. The police urges victims to report that serious crime.

Issue: B&Es – There were talks about break-and-enters and thefts from backyard in the neighbours WeChat groups. The police encourages residents to report those cases.
